State Univ. at Long Beach where he researches the Miocene Monterey Formation of California, and the Quaternary record of the Santa Barbara Basin to unravel the tectonic, climatic, and oceanographic evolution of the California Continental Margin, and Pacific Ocean.

Courtney has been in the industry with Oxy and now CRC in Bakersfield, CA since 2010. Having graduated from Cal State Long Beach, she has gained a strong appreciation with the multitude of geologic quandaries that exist in California, and constantly seeks to gain a greater understanding of California geology and its related petroleum systems.

Russell is a Professor and the Department Chair of Geological and Environmental Sciences at Cal State Chico. He is a geobiologist whose research focuses on Precambrian through Phanerozoic stromatolites/microbialites and sometimes associated economic mineral deposits. He also works as a commercial environmental paleontologist.

He has a B.S. in Geology from CSU Bakersfield, and an M.S. from Penn State Univ., where he also participated in the IBA program.
